Last week, Lane’s Belden plant was the focus of Mississippi Public Broadcasting’s Job Hunter series. The show, which focuses on manufacturing jobs in Mississippi, will show what it is like to work in several jobs at the Lane facility.
Host Kerri Courtney interviewed Shane Dunnam, a frame cutter/router operator next to his work station.
And she talked to Matt Lyle, a product design engineer. Many employees enjoyed watching the crew and host while they taped in various areas across the plant. Plant manager Kevin Keith got in on the action, holding the small sapling that travels throughout the episode. Kerri even rode down the conveyor belt in a newly constructed Lane recliner, while talking about how Lane recliners are made.
The show helps viewers learn where to get the skills they need to be competitive in the advanced manufacturing job market. Job Hunter is made possible in part by funding from the state of Mississippi and the Mississippi Manufacturers Association’s (MMA) Dream It Do It campaign.
The show with Lane will air sometime in 2013.
